In a production spanning more than a hundred years, the lives of a number of flesh-and-blood individuals are portrayed — life stories born from the accounts we have received from the people of Västmanland.

It is also a story of astonishing entrepreneurship and technological advancement, of revolutions and workers’ struggles. Love, madness, disappointments, and dreams. A play about life itself — the life that unfolded in the shadow of the Ottar Tower.

Corporate histories rarely contain the story of how a city, a country, and a dream were built. But the history of Asea does. A story that has left its mark far beyond the borders of Västerås and Sweden.

In recent years, Västmanlands Teater has created several productions based on the stories and experiences of the people of Västmanland. Here, Asea is portrayed — the company that for so many years was a driving force in Sweden’s economy, but also shaped the lives of tens of thousands of people in the region.
