Anna Nyberg - "Hos Märtha 3"
Anna Nyberg is a Swedish artist who works with how the body experiences place and material. She is interested in the encounter between inner experience and external reality – a way of seeing that activates the viewer.
Working methods & themes
Nyberg’s starting point is painting, but she likes to work spatially. Painted objects, surfaces, and architecture are set in relation to one another, opening up both real and imaginary spatialities. In various projects, photography and textile elements also appear.
The work in the collection
HOS MÄRTA 3 is part of the long-term suite “A story to be told” and is included in the collection of Västerås Art Museum.
Context
Nyberg’s practice moves in the field between painting, installation, and spatial design. Perspective, perception, and the relationship between body, material, and place are recurring themes that shape the way her works are experienced.
